Masquerade Balls All the Rage This Halloween Season

The masquerade ball a new trend

The masquerade ball a new trend

There’s a new trend this fall season—the Masquerade ball. It would seem that all the celebrities have jumped on the bandwagon and are either attending or throwing their own masked parties. Kanye West and his girlfriend, Victoria’s Secret supermodel Selita Ebanks, recently attended a masked ball in Paris. Also, Tyra Banks somehow scored an invitation to the elite and highly coveted Masquerade Ball that Vogue Paris threw in honor of their 90th anniversary. Not only that, but Banks handmade her mask for the ball, shunning the couture masks that the other attendees were wearing.

Here in America, there was a highly touted masquerade ball that was recently thrown in Chicago, by K Dock Media, a marketing group that is extremely well known and also very exclusive. The ball was held at the Crimson Lounge, a super chic hang out that is frequented by the elite of Chicago. The ball was held in conjunction with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, and the money raised will be put towards the improvement of HIV/AIDS services, as well as helping to find prevention and advocacy projects. All of the proceeds from the masked ball went to the organization.

According to David Dodd, the public relations director, the group was highly enthusiastic about working with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, and credited them with creating vast awareness about the HIV/AIDS problems that people are facing. Dodd also said that the organization had been a great support for people who were suffering from the disease, and taught them how to deal with it and get back on their feet.

Other supporters of the big event included Chicago Magazine, Michigan Avenue Magazine, Me In Focus Magazine, Mindful Metropolis Magazine, and The Scene Chicago Nightlife.
